The Scaly
Mountain, Sky Valley, and Rabin County areas
are
definitely places to consider should you want to get the
“Biggest bang for buck”.
These are just some of the
choices one has when looking for real estate on the Highlands
Plateau. It is also the reason that making a real estate choice
sometimes becomes long and cumbersome.

Lake Living

Lake
Sequoyah in Highlands, NC
Highlands
Lake Sequoyah
is the largest body of water in Highlands and serves as
Highlands’ water supply. Canoeing and kayaking is permitted on
the lake. There are some, but few, lakefront residential
possibilities beginning at approximately
$1 million.
Mirror Lake
Mirror Lake is
a smaller body of water located off Hwy 64 (Franklin Road). The
lake is picturesque and conducive to row boats and canoes. The
Mirror Lake community serves a predominant role in the
residential evolution of Highlands. The neighborhood was where
many summer people built a seasonal community of lodge/camp type
homes. Many of the original homes were not winterized and
therefore not conducive to the longer Highlands season. Many
were purchased and renovated in the past ten years. Homes in
this area begin around $300,000.
Lake Osage
Is located in
Rocky Knob, a gated community, seven plus miles from Highlands
in the Scaly Mt. area. The lake is approximately 16 acres and
offers swimming and boating with non-motor boat.
Lake Osseroga
Located on
Cashiers Hwy 64 adjacent to the Cullasaja Club offer lake front
or view homes.
The lake is small but peaceful and serene
